The Vantera reference customer
The demo runs against Vantera Industrial SE — a synthetic organisation designed to look exactly like a mid-tier SAP SI's real customer, so nothing has to be invented on stage. It is not a real company and carries no real data.
The organisation
European industrial-equipment manufacturer (pumps, compressors, plant automation). HQ Mannheim; ~28,000 employees; ~€6.2bn revenue; plants in Germany, Poland and Spain. Publicly listed, with a works council and internal audit; ISO 9001/27001 certified and targeting ISO/IEC 42001.
Why a manufacturer: it is SAP's core customer base and the mid-tier SI's sweet spot; it naturally carries the full SAP estate (S/4HANA + SuccessFactors + Ariba + BTP) without inventing anything; and the EU AI Act story is clean and honest — a manufacturer is a deployer for almost everything, its employment-AI systems are prospective Annex III high-risk (2 December 2027), and Article 50 duties are live today. It deliberately avoids the hard verticals (medical devices, credit scoring) where classification could derail the room.
SAP estate (nothing inserted for show): S/4HANA Private Cloud, SuccessFactors, Ariba, SAP BTP + AI Core, Joule (finance & HR pilot), SAP Analytics Cloud. Non-SAP reality: Azure OpenAI, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and one supplier-operated logistics AI.
The AI estate — the systems that carry the story
| Ref | System | EU AI Act position | Role in the demo |
|---|---|---|---|
| VNT-02 | SuccessFactors candidate screening & ranking | Prospective Annex III high-risk (employment); deployer; binds 2 Dec 2027 | The flagship — followed end to end |
| VNT-01 | Joule assistant (finance & HR pilot) | Limited risk; Article 50 live | The SAP Business AI anchor |
| VNT-03 | Workforce attrition / performance-signal model | Prospective Annex III (work decisions) | The control-weakness system — expired evidence, missing oversight measure |
| VNT-06 | Customer-support GenAI assistant (Azure OpenAI) | Limited risk; Article 50 live | The incident system — wrong safety guidance → incident + CAPA |
| VNT-04 / VNT-05 / VNT-07 | Cash-application ML, demand forecasting, predictive maintenance | Minimal risk (VNT-07: documented not an Annex I safety component) | Ballast that shows honest low-risk classification and classification rigour |
The estate holds 12 systems in total, with prohibited-practice, transparency, vendor and incident threads that let the seven-act journey stay on one identifier while touching all three lenses.
Using it as a partner
- The tenant is
demo-vantera-industrial. Sign-in credentials are provisioned per environment — ask your TrustedAIGov contact; they are not published here. - Treat it as a reference estate, not a live customer system. It is seeded and idempotent, so it looks the same every time you present.
- When you win a real engagement, the same shapes — governed intake, one identity per system, ISO + Act over one inventory — are exactly what you stand up for the customer (see guide 5).
Back to the start: one system, one story. Vantera is the proof that the platform tells it.
